It will take guppy fry one to six weeks for them to get color, a male guppy is more colorful than a female guppy, over time male guppies evolved to get cool color patterns so that they could attract more females. They are sort of like bettas except a little more friendly and not as aggressive. Guppies are also a lot smaller than bettas.
