Western banded geckos will curl its tail over it's body to mimic a scorpion if it feels threatened. They are also nocturnal and only come out at nighttime, usually right when the sunsets so that they can forage for food and eat the invertebrates that come out. They are highly secretive creatures and will only hunt when it's safe for them to do so. They live for around 15 years in total.

One interesting fact that I found about Western banded geckos is that they are sometimes mistaken as Gila monsters by observers.

I found out that they are abundant in the southwest area of the United States, someone that I know said that they caught one and kept them as a pet.

IDK how good of pets they are though, they seem really fast and skittish.
