Sugar gliders are legal in most states besides California, Alaska and Hawaii. Pennsylvania, New Mexico as well as Georgia requires you to own a permit if you want to have a sugar glider, but besides that they are legal. If you live in New York City or Salt Lake City, you can't own one. Sugar gliders are pretty fun pets to have, they're pretty social and easy to take care of.
