Yes, sugar gliders can ruin carpet, they are notorious for chewing on things and aren't very mindful of things around them, if they see something they want to chew on and can chew on it, they will. Sugar gliders can ruin carpet by peeing on it, not necessarily chewing on it. It's in their nature to do these things, and it's nothing to get angry at, just make sure that you don't supply them with anything that they can chew on or ruin.
