When a male guppy is swimming vertical it could be an indication that they have the swim bladder disease. This occurs when the bladder becomes too over inflated, this causes the male guppy to swim upside down. To prevent against swim bladder disease make sure to not overfeed your guppies and make sure to change the water frequently.
