No, alligators don't always make good pets, they grow rapidly (1 foot per year), they have 2000 pounds of force once they reach a length of 15-20 feet long and when they bite you they can go into this death roll, sort of like what iguanas do. Nope, wouldn't recommend owning a alligator as a pet. They grow to be huge, they require lots of food and eventually they will be large enough to eat you.

Lol unless you've got an entire room that's big enough for them that contains everything they need and you're an experienced reptile keeper, I would highly advise AGAINST owning a pet alligator.
