Crested geckos lick their eyes in order to keep them moist and clean, this helps them see better as well. They don't have any eyelids to do this for them so they have to use their tongue. It's a pretty cool thing that they do, they also sleep with their eyes open, you can tell if they are asleep because their eye lashes will be pointed inwards towards their eyes.
