Yes, Indonesian blue tongue skinks do make good pets, they are great for beginners and are incredibly docile, easy to take care of and fun reptiles. I would say that if you want a family friendly pet, go with an Indonesian blue tongue skink. They really like to eat both plants and animals, so they are pretty flexible when it comes to feeding. Ideally, the bulk of their diets should be protein sources, the over part is fruits and vegetables.
