Yes, blue tongue skinks do carry salmonella, just like every other reptile, you can catch salmonella either directly after handling a blue tongue skink or indirectly by coming in contact with someone who has handled a blue tongue skink. To prevent yourself from getting salmonella, make sure to wash your hands after you touch/handle a blue tongue skink.
