Yes, tarantulas can swim, they have these hairs on their legs that repel water. They also use their front legs to paddle through the water, this allows them to swim somewhat effectively. Tarantulas prefer not to swim if they have the choice not to, chances are you won't ever see a tarantula go for any deep diving sessions.
