No, tarantulas shouldn't live in 2.5 gallon sized enclosure as there isn't enough space for hides, a water dish and space to move around in. This depends somewhat on the size of the tarantula that your keeping, but in general most tarantulas are too large to be kept in such a small sized enclosure, 10 gallons would be the most ideal.
