Yes, tarantulas are good pets, they are low maintenance, easy to care for, generally inexpensive and cool to look at. There are some things to be aware of though, tarantulas have venomous bites, they aren't the best for handling, they are escape artists and may scare some people that come over to your house.

These are all things to be aware of if you plan on getting some pet tarantulas.
