One easy way to tell if your tarantula is dying or molting is by analyzing their body position, they will be on their back with their legs curled inwards if they are dying, if they are molting they will be standing straight up and will be molting out of their old skin. Most tarantulas die with their legs curled up and because of that, it's called the "death curl" so as long as you don't see that they're probably just molting.
