If you disturb a molting tarantula, you risk injuring their insides because their new exoskeleton is quite soft, internal injuries could result in death so it's best not to touch a molting tarantula whatsoever. They are quite fragile during the molting phase and aren't well equipped to deal with anyone touching them.
