No, ball pythons aren't affectionate, they don't form strong bonds with their owners. The bond that you will have with a ball python is pretty different from what you'd have with say a dog or a cat. Ball pythons don't have complex enough brains to develop strong ties with their owners.

They will however, get used to you through handling, there still will be a bond between you and your ball python, just not as strong as other animals.
