You can tell if your ball python is burned by taking a look at their skin. Burned ball python skin is red in the lighter colored areas, there are also blisters that form in the areas where the skin is burned. You should remove the light source that is causing the burned ball python skin so that it isn't a continual problem. 

You should also take your ball python to the vet in the case you see any burned skin, they will prescribe medicine to help soothe the burns.
