The best way to pick up a striking ball python is to choose not to pick them up. They are probably stressed out and don't want to be handled at all. This is the best way to go about it, just wait until they aren't striking and stressed out to handle them. Some people will say use handling gloves, this works, but isn't ideal for either you or your snake.
