A ball python could potentially eat a cat if they are big enough, hungry enough, and have the opportunity to do so. This assumes a few things, first is that the ball python is big enough to eat a cat, is hungry enough and has free roam around your house or is able to escape. Sort of an improbable set of circumstances, besides the size.

Ideally, you would feed your ball python on a regular basis, so they probably won't be hungry enough to go after the cat, they would need to be big enough to eat the cat. Not to mention the fact that they would need to not be in an enclosure because yea they could escape but it'd be unlikely.
