You should spot clean a ball python cage around once per week, a ball python and other snakes are known to carry some pretty infectious diseases, so it's good to wash your hands thoroughly after handling a ball python and also after you clean their tank.

It's good to spot clean once per week, then do a deep cleaning once per month.
