Your ball python could be fat if you feed him/her too much. If your ball pythons body flows perfectly to the tail without it slimming out near the end, and if there are rolls of fat near the end of their tail, then your ball python is fat. Best way to fix a fat ball python is to feed them less and also offer smaller portion sizes. (Source)
