One common, easy to tell signal a ball python will give when they are stressed is that they will remain in a ball when you go to pick them up, they may or may not hiss at you as well when they do this. This is why ball pythons are referred to as ball pythons, it's because of this behavior.

Other stressed ball python signals include:

  • Striking
  • Moving/slithering fast
  • Biting and constricting

All of these signals are common amongst ball pythons and you should really pay attention to see if your ball python is stressed out or not.
