Most of the time when pet rats start biting your fingers it could be because they believe that your fingers are snacks, it's the classic example of mistaken identity. It could be that your rat is in fear as well, or it could be just rough play. (Source)

If you get bit by a pet rat, you should make sure you wash out the wound with warm water and soap.
