Rats are pretty clean animals and you really don't have to bathe a pet rat at all, as they clean themselves and each other multiple times per day. However, in the case of a really dirty rat, you can use a damp cloth to wipe off whatever is causing them to be dirty, this will take care of the dirtiness the majority of the time.
