One way to get rid of rats in your yard without harming any of your other pets is to use food baits instead of chemicals, it's good to use foods such as peanut butter, cheese and fruits so that if any of your other pets happen to get them, they aren't poisoned. Foods that attract rats are a lot better than using harmful chemicals, if you're worried about collateral damage to your own pets.
