To effectively handle a crested gecko there are some things you should be aware of, first they are scared of almost everything and can drop their tails whenever they feel like it. I say this not to scare you but to prepare you if it happens.

Second, a crested gecko is best handled gently, alone in a room with no other pets and held not too far away from the ground because they jump.

Third, they will jump off your hand and onto anything they want to, so make sure you let them jump from hand to hand and not from your hand onto anything else you wouldn't want them to jump onto.

Fourth, they pee/poop when you handle them sometimes, if that happens, it's not the end of the world just know that it could happen.

Fifth, it takes time to build familiarity with your crested gecko, so make sure you slowly handle them for longer durations. This makes them not as scared or anxious around you.

Hope this helps! 😄
