According to a post by statesman.com, there are four poisonous snake species in Texas to be on the lookout for, they are copperheads, coral snakes, cottonmouths and rattlesnakes. It's more dangerous to go after these snakes if you see one than it is to ignore them. They are more afraid of you than you are of them, and if you try and kill them they'll be more likely to attack you back. It also doesn't help if you kill these snakes because they are helpful to the environment.
