Hamsters are very unlikely to carry rabies, the chances of a hamster being infected with rabies is very, very small, according to the CDC. If you're buying a hamster from PetSmart or Petco, the chances of them having rabies is nearly impossible, not only are they treated for all sorts of illnesses before they are sold, but there really isn't a way for them to even get rabies.
