The best kind of containers to use when you breed waxworms are glass, metal, or hard plastic containers.

A 1-gallon jar or 5-gallon tank has lots of space to house around 50 waxworms. Don't use a container made out of super soft plastics, wood, or cardboard because waxworms are able to chew right on through all these materials. You should also make sure that there is adequate airflow in these containers, you don't want them to keep breathing in their own bad air.

Every once and a while you should add in some cereal grain, honey, and every once and awhile glycerin.
