Yes, you should refrigerate waxworms to preserve their lifespan, they will go into this dormant phase where they are alive, but their metabolisms are very slow and they will live for around 8 weeks because of it. If you take good care of them and are feeding them every once and awhile they will last a long time. It's good to put your waxworms in the refrigerator door to ensure that they aren't too cold.
