To keep waxworms alive, you have to place them in a cool area and feed them on a consistent basis. The refrigerator door is an excellent place to keep waxworms alive as it isn't too cold or hot for them. They will live longer in cooler temperatures and won't live as long in warmer temperatures. Even storing waxworms at room temperature won't ensure their long survival.
