Chinchillas bathe by rolling around in a mixture of dust to soak up any moisture and oils that are on the surface of their skin. They have very dense fur that doesn't normally get rid of wet stuff on its own. As a pet owner you should provide some chinchilla dust to your chinchillas so they remain dry and healthy.
