Signs of impaction in crested geckos includes: rounded belly (swollen abdomen), increased weight, constant straining while pooping, constipation, dehydration, lethargic movements, stomach cramps, in bad scenarios paralysis, abnormal aggression, throwing up, low to no movement and trembling legs.

What to do about it: stop feeding your crested gecko inside their enclosure with substrate. Also move to feeding your crested gecko only the powdered diet with more water mixed in. You can also massage their belly to help get the substrate loose. You're going to want to make sure that the humidity and temperature range inside the enclosure is right to, as this will help your crested gecko with passing the substrate.
