A crested gecko may have a swollen tongue when it has mouth rot. Mouth rot occurs when there is an infection in the gums and mouth of your crested gecko, resulting in inflammation and a swollen experience. Mouth rot is caused by a poor diet, stress, trauma and overall bad care practices.

You should take your crested gecko to an exotic pet's vet to help treat this disorder or risk loosing your crested gecko.
